the question that fixed the universe

Happy Sunday
I’m not one that typically works on sundays but todays a bit of an exception.
Really wanted to type this out because i’ve had so many people hit me up over the last few weeks about what I’m actually doing for work.
And that made me realize that everyone is entirely too worried about what others do.
Yeah, I make art… that’s pretty much it.
I really do hate the question “what do you do” or “what do you do for work”
People tend to fill their heads stereotypes as soon as they here that you do this or that or whatever.
It’s not their fault, it’s how they were programmed to think.
But there is something you consciously can do to start reprogramming yourself (which will ripple effect to those around you.
It all comes back to being intentional.
My go to opener, any time I meet someone new, is…..
“What are you passionate about?”
Simple, easy, literally perfect.
In my own world inside the universe that I live in, I simply wake up and do whatever I feel like doing, I be a good person, and people love me because I am me.
I am passionate about making art, so that is what I do.
There becomes a point where you realize that the only way to get up is not to reinvent the wheel.
But simply create by interpreting things (that already work) in your own way & climbing the ladder that was made for you.
When you create, endless opportunities unfold.
You simply just put shit into the universe, and it flies back at you 100000x harder.
Here’s a young n turnt quote from a goat:
Good artists copy, Great artists steal. - Picasso
My interpretation of this is that “good” artists are all just imitating each other, literally copy and pastes of each other, doing the same old bullshit.
These types are renting lambos and overpaying for rent in Miami with their measly $10k/mo.
“Great” artists on the other hand, are taking what works from others, interpreting it in their own creative way, then transforming it into something original.
These are the types that are up. So fucking up that they can’t be bothered by other peoples bullshit. This is where I want to stand for the rest of time.
Real life examples are some of the best marketers online.
Chrome Hearts wasn’t the first “luxury streetwear” brand.
Kill Crew wasn’t the first “athletic clothes” brand.
Ghost Energy wasn’t the first “gaming & fitness energy” brand.
But all of these have taken their respective industries by storm.
Get it?
